Frequently asked questions

What is an overview on the Radar?

It’s a page that sums up a segment of the catalog (a price range, a use, a brand) in numbers: how many models there are, the median price and the median spec score, what changed since the previous collection and how the segment compares to the whole catalog. Each model counts once, with the versions inside the card. Each number shows the collection date.

Why don’t some segments have a page?

A segment only becomes a page when it has enough models in the day’s catalog (from 4 to 10 models, depending on the segment): with fewer, the median and the chart say nothing. Left out today, with the number of models in parentheses: Monitors with an IPS panel (0), OLED monitors (0), Monitors for creative work (photo and video) (0), Ktc (3), Philips (1), Pixio (1), TCL (1), Vivo (1). If the catalog gains models, the page is created in the next collection.

What happens when a segment loses models?

The page never turns into an error: the address stays live. If the segment falls below the minimum, the page gets a notice and stays indexable for a while; below the minimum minus two for three collections in a row, it leaves the search engine index (noindex) and returns when the segment recovers the minimum.

How often do the overviews change?

Every day, with each collection. The pages are generated again with the day’s catalog, and the "What changed" section compares with the previous collection. This edition is from November 6, 2026.

Where the numbers come from

Lowest price seen for the product on Amazon.ca, delivered to Toronto M5V 3L9, on the day it was read, before GST/HST. Each overview uses only the monitors in the day’s catalog that meet the segment rule. The micro-indicator on each card shows the segment’s price range on a logarithmic scale of the whole catalog, with the median marked.

The overviews describe the Radar catalog, not the whole market, and the price is the one collected on the date shown.
