Date sources: U.S. federal law, 5 U.S.C. § 6103: Thanksgiving Day is the fourth Thursday of November; Black Friday: the Friday after Thanksgiving (Wikipedia); Cyber Monday: the Monday after Thanksgiving (Wikipedia).

Is it worth buying monitor on Black Friday?

It depends on the model, and the price history shows why. The Radar compares today’s price of each model with the model’s own 30-day median. The series shows what the price has done so far, not what each store will do on Nov 27, 2026. If a model is already below its own median, buying early doesn’t depend on the date; if it’s above, its page shows the history to compare.

How to tell if the discount is real

  1. We save the price every day

Each collection records the trusted-store price of each model, and the series becomes the history that serves as the benchmark.

  2. We compare with the median, not the "was" price

The benchmark is the median of the model’s own price over the last 30 days. The "was" price the store crosses out is not used.

  3. We only call it a drop with enough history

With 14 days or more of history and a price 5% or more below the median, the model goes into "Price really dropped".

Frequently asked questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

On November 27, 2026, a Friday. It’s the Friday after Thanksgiving, the fourth Thursday of November (Nov 26, 2026). Each store announces its own sale period on its website.

Is the Black Friday discount on monitor real?

The only way to know is to compare with the same model’s history. The Radar compares today’s price with the median of the last 30 days for that monitor in the price history and ignores the "was" price the store crosses out. On Nov 6, 2026, no model is 5% or more below the median, with enough history.

Is it worth waiting for Black Friday to buy monitor?

It depends on the model. The Radar saves the price of each monitor every day and compares it with the 30-day median. The series shows how the price has moved so far, not what the store will do on Nov 27, 2026.

When is Cyber Monday 2026?

Do prices go up before Black Friday?

It depends on the model, and only the series can answer. The Radar saves the price of each monitor every day and compares today’s with the 30-day median: a price that rose in the previous days barely moves that median, because it uses the middle value of the series. The page for each monitor shows the history of of the monitor.

What is "Black Fraud" or "half of double"?

How does the Radar know the price dropped?
